At Hurts So Good Massage we understand that things happen in everyone's life which can cause them to reschedule a session. Unforeseen events such as car problems, last minute business meetings, bumped up project deadlines or a child being sick are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling a massage appointment.

Our goal here is to provide our clients with a Professional and Therapeutic Massage. The following policies and procedures have been adopted to aid in offering an outstanding massage experience to all of our clients as well as to be respectful of our therapists' time.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a treatment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If a client fails to cancel within 24 hours on 2 or more occasions they will be asked to pre-pay for future services.

No Show Policy

Clients who fail to show for appointments will be asked to pre-pay for future services. This is important as our massage therapists should be compensated for their time. Any future service will be denied unless pre-payment is made.

Pushed Back Appointment Times

Unfortunately when a scheduled appointment is pushed back for even just a few minutes we are not always able to accommodate and provide a full or partial session for our clients. The option for a full or partial massage session will be at our discretion and will be determined by the sessions scheduled to follow yours on that day.

Informed Concent

Prior to each massage session we will discuss your needs and explain the modalities being used to address your needs. Your participation shows that you have a clear understanding of what will be treated during your session and that you consent to those modalities and techniques being performed.

Scope Of Practice

We at Hurts So Good Massage are Licensed Massage Therapists and are held to the highest standards of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals and the State Board of Massage Therapy. In our professions we apply massage techniques with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of our clients. We do not diagnose or prescribe for any medical condition. We are not allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor's supervision. We are required to refer you for a diagnosis and to follow the recommendations of your physician.

Client Needs

During a Hurts So Good Massage we are happy to adjust the massage pressure, music volume and room temperature as well as work on a specific area of the client’s body longer or avoid an area all together. We do this to ensure the client feels completely secure and comfortable during their session. In addition the client can choose to leave on clothing, refuse any massage technique or stop the massage session at any time. The client will always be draped and only the area being massaged will be uncovered. Our goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment. We understand that occasionally an emotional response can occur during a massage session and want to you to know that it is ok and normal. If this happens feel free to express your feelings or request to be alone. We can continue you session whenever you are comfortable. You are in complete control.

Professional Boundaries

Any requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated. It will be viewed as solicitation and will be reported to the proper authorities under the guidelines set by the State Board of Massage Therapy. On rare occasions an involuntary sensual response to massage is natural and is not considered sexual misconduct. It will usually subside on its own in a few moments.

Age Limit

We do not massage anyone under the age of 18 without the presence of a parent or guardian.

Confidentiality and Conversation

All discussions between the massage therapist and client are confidential. The client may choose to talk during the massage or not. We want you to be comfortable and are happy to interact or not.

Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep their massage therapist informed of any medical treatments they are currently undergoing, as well as provide written permission from an applicable physician that a massage is authorized or preferred. In addition the client must keep Hurts So Good Massage informed of any changes in their health conditions.
